The Art of Horse Dealing

My late father Jackie Larkin was an old school Horse Dealer traveling the length and breadth of Ireland buying and selling horses. The Art of Dealing came easy to him the vendor usually started with a trot up to show the buyer how straight the horse moved and after look a look for conformation defects i.e splints, curbs, capped hocks etc. then after a lot of negotiations and slapping of hands the deal was struck.

Check out the two Sheridan Boys Freddie and Patrick having a go at selling the ironically named "Speedy" at Ballinasloe Fair 2017.
